After visiting the morning market, it's time to start our day with a hearty breakfast highly recommended by blogs. We are off to Kampung Buli Sim Sim to look for a shop called H84. All we know is that it's located on Pier 8, along Jalan Sim Sim. We ended up at Jambatan 8, instead of Lorong 8. We got to see real families living on the water.
Jambatan 8 - WRONG! Not the right place for seafood breakfast |
After finding the right Lorong 8, we finally located H84, which looks more like someone's home instead of a restaurant. What's good here? Supposedly the century egg dumpling soup and noodles. Unfortunately, not my cup of tea.
With breakfast out of the way, we took a 45 minute drive to the Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary. Take note that bags are not allowed in, but you can use their free locker to keep your belongings. Entrance fees are RM5 for MyKad holders, and an additional RM10 per camera. With the amount of people in there, nobody can really tell whether you paid for the camera or not. Although we arrived at 10:15am, the feeding was still going on and lasted till 10:45am at least.
A short 5-minute walk to the feeding platform |
There were more than 1 orang utans, but this guy really took his time to savour the bananas |
Next, most people would have gone directly to the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary for the 11:30am feeding. This was entirely possible, as it was only a 30 minute drive away. we took our time and had fun at the Rainforest Discovery Centre. RM7 for MyKad holders
Take a stroll on the tree top walk |
With a short 30 minute drive to the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, we had to find a place for lunch. We ended up at the Labuk Bay Resort, which is just 2km from the feeding platform of Proboscis Monkey. In short, find somewhere else please.
Was it good or bad, that there was a downpour just before feeding time. The rain stopped at 2:00pm and the monkeys took their time in coming out. On normal days, the guide said there'd be a few hundred of them. We saw perhaps 30. Still, quite nicely done. RM15 for MyKad holders.

We stopped by Bandar Kim Fung for a famous UFO Egg Tart stall. Again, not my cup of tea.
UFO Egg tart. The foam-y bit was quite rubbery. |
Just before dinner, we wanted to visit Puu Jih Shih temple located on top of the hill which has great views of the sea. Unfortunately, we arrived at 6pm just when it closes. Still, the views outside were great.
Tonight, we picked a place where another blog claimed it to be very cheap - Pusat Makan Laut Pasir Putih. Let's see what we had.
What?? Only RM17.50?? We should have ordered more! It was great! |
As if we didn't eat enough today, we had room for dessert. Very popular with the locals, the yoghurt here is not bad at all.
7-Heaven located in Bandar Indah |
Famous for their Yoghurt and Yoghurt Ice Cream |
This banana boat was RM13.90 |
