Cycling along the Kagawa river |
Bicycle parking is scarce in Kyoto |
Lunch was one of the highlights of our trip, where we specifically waited outside the door till they opened at 11:30am. More about the best unagi rice in my previous post.
After lunch, we cycled along the Kagawa river, looking for Sanjusangendo temple. This temple is supposed to have 1001 statues of Kannon, truly an impressive sight in photos. But alas, the rain caught up with us yet again. Since we already missed out on Kinkakuji and now Sanjusangendo, we take it as our destiny to return to Kyoto on another trip to complete these sites :)
Still not in full bloom yet |
Bye bye to Kyoto Tower |
Did you know that McDonald's cannot use their signature red in Kyoto? Too brightly coloured for an ancient city |
One last stop after returning the bikes, was to try the best green tea ice cream ever. Located inside Isetan at the main train station, the restaurant was packed with 10 people in queue! Head downstairs to locate their kiosk and get one to go!
